In his third year at the Carluke yard, Keith has trained a total of 60 flat winners beating the 56-year-old record set by George Boyd back in 1957.

Keith puts the outstanding season down to the hard work of his team behind the scenes.

He said: “It was a huge effort by everyone in the last few weeks of the season to get the record.

“The record had stood for such a long time so we were all really pleased to finally get it.

“Last year we got 53 winners and we carried on this year; there wasn’t a lull at all during the year.”
