After only two minutes a subtle pass by Kirk gave Murrell a clear sight of the line from halfway and he outpaced the visitors’ defence to score.

Thomson added the extra points.

Shortly afterwards Thomson added a penalty for the home side and just before the break McKinstry drove over for Glens from a maul and ruck on the visitors line. Half- time score – 15-0.

Shortly after the restart Waysiders forced their way through the home defence and Dobson managed to ground the ball, but the conversion attempt went wide.

From then till the end of the match neither side impressed partly due to the poor conditions.

The win secures the club’s position in the RBS West 1 league for next season. The Briggs team finished with 35 points.
